The Minnesota Jets mission is to offer cheerleading, cheerleading events, cheerleading teams, and awareness/advocacy for cheerleading throughout Central Minnesota. Based in Big Lake, MN, we host practices, camps, and events in Monticello, MN. The Minnesota Jets hope to promote a sense of community, achievement, and positive self-esteem for all involved. These goals will be accomplished through opportunities for students aged 18 and younger, by providing access to equipment, facilities, and training that exceed expectations, fostering an atmosphere where integrity, inclusiveness, accountability, and respect are valued. The Minnesota Jets serves cheerleaders from Big Lake, Elk River, Zimmerman, Monticello, and other areas of Central Minnesota!
On December 3rd, 2022, the Minnesota Jets Thunderbolts team (age 10-18) participated in the UCA Regional Competition in Milwaukee, WI. Not only did the Team obtain their highest score of the season, but they “HIT ZERO” meaning NO deductions, NO safety violations, NO technical issues. Something else happened as well, THEY RECEIVED A BID TO NATIONALS! This first-year team has accomplished amazing things this year and will now have the opportunity to represent their team, program, and communities on a National Stage.
Nationals takes place at Disney World, on their ESPN Wide World of Sports campus. This is an incredible opportunity for these young athletes, and something not every cheerleader gets to experience. The cost of Nationals is high, ranging from $1,800 to $2,000 per cheerleader. Of the 25 cheerleaders going to Nationals, there are several families receiving scholarships from the Minnesota Jets to work against their fees and costs, and this will include Nationals as well. Though the team will be working aggressively with Pancake Breakfasts, Silent Auctions, Raffles and more, help will be needed to impact the projected $55,000 budget for the team to attend this life-changing experience.
